Cradled On The Mountain.

World class accommodations. Rustic charm. Solitude and silence.

A 20 minute drive from town transports us to a northern paradise. Winds whispering through the pines, comfortably rustic cabins. Secluded exclusive meeting space.

Choosing Point Lookout in Northport as our gathering site would allow for walks through the woods and a far more insular experience. If we choose to, we could see and interact with only our group for the entire retreat. Our only company being the forested hill and ocean views.

A short drive up the coast from Camden brings us to the quiet enclave of Northport. Nestled on a forested mountainside sits Point Lookout. In the late 1990’s the credit card bank MBNA established a major presence in the region. It created hundreds of call center jobs and substantial infrastructure to support the operations. One such investment was to build Point Lookout as its corporate retreat center. Like all former MBNA properties, Point Lookout has since found a new life. Fortunately for us, that life includes availability to the public for event rentals.

MBNA spared no expense in their efforts to create a world-class property. The event spaces echo the region’s tradition of maritime excellence and boat building, boasting details one expects on a hand-crafted yacht more than a corporate meeting center. We would have exclusive use of an entire ballroom building, including a wrap-around covered veranda with ocean views and the option of hosting private social time at the stunning bar.

Lodging at Point Lookout is accomplished via 2-bedroom cabins, though on the inside they feel more like spacious cottages. Each unit includes a full kitchen and sitting area. Each bedroom has its own three quarter bathroom. Reflecting its setting in the coastal conifer forest and Maine’s rich heritage as the Pine Tree State, units wrap guests with the warmth of extensive pine interiors and a comfort unexpected by their simple rustic exteriors.

Point Lookout will likely be a destination that we stay at for the duration of the event. We believe that this will enable much deeper work and a weaving of a more insular space. At Point Lookout the people we will see are each other, with a few exceptions for staff. It will be easiest to have all meals catered on site, rather that arranging for logistics to transport us to the larger nearby towns of Camden or Belfast, or the much closer and smaller enclave of Lincolnville Beach.
